Privacy Notice

Temperature Nomad is operated by Kelly Kuhl, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. This notice explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.

  • Nothing, if you only use the converter. There is no account, no sign-in, and no tracking or advertising cookies. Your chosen temperature and light/dark preference stay in your browser.
  • Order data, if you send a tip. Your email address, country, and postal code, plus the amount, currency, and a transaction reference. Card details are entered directly into Stripe’s checkout and are never seen or stored by us.
  • Technical data. Our hosting and infrastructure providers process IP address, browser type, and request logs as part of serving and securing the site.
  • Processing your tip and keeping a record of it — performance of a contract.
  • Responding to support and refund requests — performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in supporting users.
  • Keeping the site secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and keeping accounting records — legitimate interests and legal obligation.

We do not sell personal data and we do not send marketing email.

  • Stripe, our payment processor, for payment processing, receipts, and refunds. Stripe processes card data as an independent controller under its own privacy notice.
  • Service providers that host the site and its database on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, and authorities where we are legally required to disclose.

Tip records are kept for seven years to satisfy tax and accounting obligations, then deleted or anonymised. Server logs are kept for a short operational period. Anything no longer needed for these purposes is deleted.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls, and signed and verified payment notifications.

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, and the right to complain to your data protection supervisory authority. We respond to requests within one month. For anything related to a payment, reply to the Stripe receipt sent to you at checkout, which references the order record.

We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Stripe sets strictly necessary cookies inside its checkout to process your payment and prevent fraud. Your theme preference is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to us.
